Public Works Committees

Public works sponsors a number of advisory committees. Find out more about each one below.

Overview: The Courthouse Preservation Committee helps the Benton County Board of Commissioners preserve the Benton County Courthouse’s historical integrity. The goal is to make sure its unique character lasts forever. The committee also has the job of showing county staff how to take care of the building’s historical items and keep the surroundings looking good to match the courthouse.

Meeting Details: The committee meets on the third Thursdays of most months at 4:45 p.m. in the Courthouse meeting room at the east end of the main floor.

Overview: This committee helps the Benton County Board of Commissioners with the Statewide Transportation Improvement Fund and decide which projects should get money from STIF. Check out additional committee information here.

Meeting Details: The STIF committee meets twice a year or as business arises. Meetings are held virtually and in person at the Madison Avenue Building, 500 SW Madison Ave. The next meeting will be on October 14, 2024 at 10am.

Overview: The Special Transportation Advisory Committee (STAC) advised and made recommendations to the BOC and staff regarding transportation services that provide access to the community for the senior and disabled citizens of Benton County and the allocation of ODOT and Federal grant funds. At the direction of the State of Oregon, the STAC has been consolidated into the STIF Committee.
