Community Connections
Pilkington to Merloy
The County was able to continue this connection thanks to a Community Paths Grant given in 2021. The construction of the Pilkington to Merloy connection is expected to take place in 2024. David Evans and Associates have been contracted by Benton County to provide preliminary design services and help with acquiring the right-of-way.

North Albany Connections
David Evans and Associates is currently involved in this part of the project as well. After the Union Pacific Railroad rejected the idea of having the path go under their existing railroad, the staff and consultant explored alternative options for a temporary connection. The plan is to conclude the path at Rainwater, ensuring a connection to U.S. 20, and proceed with negotiations and construction within the designated right-of-way.
