Transportation Safety Action Plan Details

The TSAP will focus on:

  • Reducing serious crashes and injuries on County roads, prioritizing areas where crash rates are high.
  • Recommending specific safety improvements for rural and high-traffic corridors, especially those lacking shoulders or bike lanes.
  • Improving bike and freight safety along key corridors like Springhill Drive/Independence Highway and Fern Road/Bellfountain Road by studying traffic patterns, gathering community input, and identifying infrastructure gaps.
  • Developing strategies to enhance safety for vulnerable travelers while ensuring an efficient and competitive transportation network.
  • Establishing long-term goals to make Benton County roads safer and tracking our progress along the way.

Timeline

The timeline outlines a multi-phase plan from Fall 2024 to Winter 2026. This approach ensures community input, data-driven decision making, and coordinated efforts to improve transportation safety.

Corvallis TSAP

Benton County & the City of Corvallis are teaming up to make our roads safer. The Corvallis TSAP will focus on streets inside the city, while the Benton County TSAP will address roads in the urban fringe and those maintained by the County within city limits. This collaboration helps maximize efficiency and consistency.
