Stormwater Program Public Involvement
Outreach and Education Events
Benton County stormwater program staff participate in various events to provide information and education about our stormwater resources. Find us at the annual City of Philomath Arbor Day Celebration, Benton County Fair & Rodeo, community watershed Tours, and community meetings about stormwater.
Stormwater Implementation Group (SWIG)
The Stormwater Implementation Group was first formed in 2022 to involve residents in the implementation of Benton County’s Department of Environmental Quality’s permit requirements that include stormwater management during and after construction. SWIG members also assist Benton County staff in exploring the best ways to work with builders and developers before, during and after construction projects.
The SWIG includes contractors, developers, road district officers, real estate professionals, engineers, and interested residents.
Please contact Benton County Public Works if you are interested in participating or would like more information.
NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) Stakeholders’ Group
Benton County staff hold monthly stakeholder meetings with representatives from local government, watershed councils, and others regarding local water quality issues, NPDES permitting and other topics.
